ABOUT US
With a unique blend of Old World craftsmanship and state-of-the-art
technology, Venerable Classics provides the finest conservation
and restoration of treasures, old and new, in porcelain, crystal,
jade, ivory, marble, and other fragile materials.
Janet Connolly, and her founding partner Lynn Waddington, studied
for years with a seven-generation German firm, restorers to
the Smithsonian and the British Royal Family.
In 1985 Venerable Classics was established. Over the years,
the specialists at Venerable Classics have restored over 15,000
items.
Prized museum pieces and family heirlooms arrive at the Northern
California studio from all over the United States and beyond.
Each is carefully examined, photographed, documented and labeled.
After client approval of a cost estimate, staff artisans go
to work with airbrush, dentist’s drill, buffing compounds,
and adhesives developed by the aerospace industry. When restoration
has been completed, it can be virtually impossible to tell that
the piece has been damaged.

From a pile of shattered porcelain,
this 18th century Chinese urn regains its pristine beauty
at the hands of the gifted artisans. |
Venerable Classics owner Janet Connolly
puts final touches on the restored urn. |

pieced together, using unique skills and specially produced
materials that provide strength, and at the same time
prevent discoloration. |
